Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today released the following statement regarding a letter sent to Texas Planned Parenthood affiliates giving notice of termination from the state’s Medicaid program. The letter from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Inspector General was issued after extensive video evidence suggests multiple statutory and program violations.
“I applaud Gov. Greg Abbott and HHSC for taking this important step to ensure taxpayer dollars do not go toward funding Planned Parenthood. Clear indications of their adjustment of abortion procedures to procure baby body parts are more than troubling. Such behavior raises serious concerns about the ability of Planned Parenthood to comply with the minimum standards of care that are expected to protect the health and safety of Texas women.”
The Office of the Attorney General is currently investigating Planned Parenthood following the publication of a video showing a Planned Parenthood Senior Director discussing how they maximize the available body parts they plan to sell.
