Ms. Kristi LaRoe
Assistant District Attorney
County of Tarrant
401 West Belknap
Fort Worth, Texas 76196-0201

OR2000-2342

Dear Ms. LaRoe:

You ask this office to reconsider Open Records Letter No. 2000-1591 (2000). Your request was assigned ID# 137803.

Although your letter seeks to clarify some factual matters related to the role of the Tarrant County District Attorney Office in requesting the ruling and its own interest in protecting the requested information, you are essentially asking us to reconsider our determination that you have not provided a compelling reason for withholding the information. The Seventy-sixth Legislature amended section 552.301 of the Public Information Act (the "act") to provide that a governmental body is prohibited from asking for a reconsideration of the attorney general's decision. Gov't Code 552.301(f). We therefore decline your request to reconsider Open Records Letter No. 2000-1951.

If you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact our Open Government Hotline at (877) 673-6839.

Sincerely,

Rebecca L. Payne
Chief
