Cyber Crimes Unit Arrests West Lake Hills Police Officer for Online Solicitation of a MinorAUSTIN – Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott’s Cyber Crimes Unit today arrested City of West Lake Hills police officer Paul Kirksey, 34, for online solicitation of a minor.
Cyber Crimes Unit investigators arrested Kirksey in West Lake Hills after he allegedly e-mailed sexually explicit images to someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl. The “girl” was actually an undercover Cyber Crimes Unit investigator. The Cyber Crimes Unit also served an evidentiary search warrant today at Kirksey’s Sunrise Beach residence in Llano County.
Attorney General Abbott has earned a national reputation for aggressively arresting and prosecuting child predators. Since 2003, the Cyber Crimes Unit and Fugitive Unit have arrested more than 600 sex predators. Prosecutors also have obtained convictions against more than 70 men on child pornography charges.
